We provide lifesaving education thru our Health & Safety and Disaster services departments. We work on increasing the amount of blood donors in our area in order to meet a growing demand for blood in our hospitals. We continually respond to local disasters such as house fires and provide immediate services for those families. The Catawba Valley Chapter also provides service to Military families. $39,800 funded for emergency services program which provides emergency disaster response and relief; $13,600 funded for community services program to support blood collections; and $30,500 funded for Health, Safety & Life services programs that provides training for first aid and CPR.

Provides professional services to child victims of sexual and/or serious physical abuse.  The first year goal is to train 1,200 Catawba County adults in the Darkness to Light Stewards of Children Prevention Curriculum.  This program is an evidence based program that teaches to recognize, report, and respond responsibly to child sexual abuse.  $20,000 funded for Darkness to Light program to provide child abuse prevention training.

Provides individual and Family Counseling, Credit Counseling, and First Step 24 Hour Domestic Violence Services and Shelter for victims. $145,000 funded for the First Step Domestic Violence program to serve victims of domestic violence; $105,000.00 funded for Consumer Credit Counseling program to provide credit counseling assistance; and $120,000.00 funded to the Individual & Family Counseling program to assist in providing crisis counseling.
