The Catawba County United Way is focused on supporting safe and secure environments for children and adults, providing access to health care and mental health services and ensuring nutritional needs are met for local seniors and families.
Catawba County Health Facts
- In 2019, EMS went to 592 calls that were treated as overdoses.
- The number of food insecure people is 19,180. The number of food insecure children is 6,970.
- More than 1 in 4 Partners Behavioral Health Management clients reported 3 or more challenges with social determinants of health, indicating a risk to health and wellness for those individuals.
- 16.5% of the adult population is uninsured while 4.8% of children are uninsured.
